With the Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics (AOO) procedure most orthodontic cases in both adolescents and adults can be completed 3 to 4 times faster than would be possible with conventional orthodontics. Often 6-9 months of total time in braces! This is accomplished by combining efficient orthodontic mechanics by an orthodontist and alveolar decortication and augmentation techniques in Dr. Marlene Miller’s office. The end result is straight teeth, a structurally sound periodontium, and patients that are extremely grateful.
Both adolescents and adults can enjoy the benefits of rapid orthodontic treatment in most cases from six to nine months. Common complications of conventional orthodontic care such as root resporption, decalcification, and relapse are often elimintated. In certain situations bicuspid extraction and jaw surgery can be avoided.
The AOO procedure is done in our office setting under IV sedation and involves stippling of the cortical bone around the teeth that are to be moved along with bone grafting. This temporary softening of the dense bone around teeth allows the orthodontist to move the teeth into ideal positions in a rapid, safe and stable manner.
